ECELC Collaborative Successes
As of September 2015, a second round of 32 learning collaboratives funded by the CDC and launched by Nemours and partners in 2014 completed their fifth and final learning session. Nearly 800 early care and education programs, serving more than 72,000 children across Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, North Florida, South Florida, New Jersey, Los Angeles County, Virginia, and Kentucky participated in the ECELC. In addition to attending learning sessions, providers received technical assistance, tools, and resources to begin implementing action plans to improve policies and practices related to healthy eating, physical activity, screen time, and breastfeeding support. Participating programs will continue to receive technical support through December 2015 and will participate in a follow-up group activity to maintain improvements achieved through the ECELC experience.
