Technical Assistance Requests
The Healthy Kids, Healthy Future Technical Assistance Program (HKHF TAP) provides a range of technical assistance (TA) services to state and local agencies to advance nutrition and physical activity efforts in early care and education (ECE). Organizations can now request TA services from HKHF TAP to support your work to improve policies, practices, and environments within state systems or ECE program sites.
Who can submit a TA request? Staff from state or local organizations not currently receiving funding from CDC’s SPAN, HOP, or REACH programs may submit a request through this website. (Current recipients of SPAN, HOP, and REACH funding should continue to submit TA requests through normal CDC channels.)
How does the TA request process work? We understand there is no one-size-fits-all approach when working to improve health in ECE. HKHF TAP customizes TA to best meet the needs of the requestor. Shortly after receiving your request, we will:
- Contact you within three business days via email.
- Schedule a virtual meeting to discuss your request and Nemours’ TA offerings.
- Work collaboratively to complete relevant capacity building and partnership development activities, such as developing a detailed action plan and ECE needs assessment to help you reach your goals.
- Regular check-ins as needed.
The extent of TA will be dependent upon the requestor’s needs and capacity.
What TA can I request (examples)?
- Action plan development and implementation coaching
- Partnership building and stakeholder engagement
- Development of an ECE landscape assessment
- Activity prioritization guidance
- Strategic plan development
- Professional development for ECE program staff or T/TA agencies
- Development or updating of State Recognition Programs
- Learning Collaborative Train the Trainers and planning guidance
- Train the Trainers on Family Cafés on healthy active living
- General coaching and TA to launch or reactivate state efforts in nutrition and physical activity in ECE
